Waitress: Ni men san ge ren jiao ji fan, ke yi jiao ban ge ji. San ge ren ye ke yi jia yi pan you cai. (Translation: You 3 order chicken rice, can order half a chicken. 3 people then also can order a plate of vegetables).
We were discussing for a while, when....
Waitress: shee shee shor shor shee shee shor shor......... (random ramblings. Dunno what she was saying.)
Purples: Eh, can faster decide or not? Very irritating, the voice. Can die. Hurry up.
Jol: Hao la. Wo men jiao ban ge ji. (Translation: ok we will have half the chicken)
Waitress: You cai yao bu yao? (Translation: Vegetables want or not?)
Purples: Aiyoh! Quick tell her everything ok la. Just make her stop talking!
Jol: Hao la. Jia you cai (Translation: ok, add the vegetables)
Waitress: Yao he she me ne? (Translation: What would you like to drink?)
Purples: Chinese tea (and we all decide to have one)
Jol: Zhong Guo Cha (Translation: Chinese tea)
Waitress: Hao. San bei lu cha (Translation: 3 cups of green tea)
Purples: Eh, we said chinese tea la
Jol: Bu shi. Wo men yao zhong guo cha. Oolong. (Translation: No we want chinese tea. Oolong)
Waitress: Oolong zhi you leng de. Shao de quan bu shi lu cha. Wo men de zhong guo cha shi shee shee shor shor shee shee shor shor........(Translation: Oolong only comes in chilled form. Hot one is green tea. Our Chinese tea is shee shee shor shor shee shee shor shor......)
Purples: Tell her ok! Quick!!!!!
Jol: Hao. Lu cha (Translation: ok, green tea is fine)
Waitress (across to the drink counter about 5 metres away): SAN BEI LU CHA SHAO! (Translations: 3 cups of hot green tea)
Digital Curls: Ok, this time of the month not very good. Better not make that woman talk already.
It wasn't so much the incessant talking, really. It was the sheer shrill pitch, China accent and audio level of the voice. Really annoying. And getting my pants soaked in the rain wasn't helping the situation.
So that was lunch. Dinner was at Different Taste Cafe at Frankel with the girls. Fish head curry, pork ribs and sambal kankong. It was still raining and perfect weather for fish head curry. BFC was sharing with us an incident which took place in her course of work.
Group of PRC men: Xiao jie, ke yi pao cha ma? (Traslation: Miss, can brew some tea?)
BFC: Sian sheng, tian qi bu hao, zhe me pao cha ne? (Translation: Sirs, there is turbulence, how to brew tea now?
Group of PRC men: Dui ah. Shao hui'er (Tranlsation: That's right. Later then)
Later, the group of them order their individual drinks one by one, resulting in my dear friend having to go back and forth between the kitchen and them to serve them their drinks.
BFC: Aiyo, ni men ying gai yi qi jiao ma. Yi ci guo ma (Translation: Aiyo, you should all order at the same time ma. Order all at once ma)
Group of PRC men: Dui ah dui ah. (Translation: That's right. That's right.)
BFC: Ni men zai xin jia bo zhu ji tian? (Translation: How long is your stay in Singapore?)
Group of PRC men: Liang tian (Translation: 2 days)
BFC: Liang tian na li gou? Ying gai duo zhu ji tian (Translation: 2 days only is not enough. Should stay longer)
Group of PRC men: Ru guo wo men zai xin jia bo peng dao ni, wo men jiu duo zhu ji dian pei ni! (Translation: If we bump into you, we will extend our stay to accompany you)
BFC (panics and says): Aiyo. Xin jia bo you na me duo xiao jie, ni men zhe me hui peng shang wo?? (Translation: Aiyo, there are so many women in Singapore, how to bump into me?)
Purples: How come you talk and "tae" liddat?
BFC: Aiyah, the best way to treat them is the way their women treat them what. You should have seen the PRC women sitting behind them! The face all black you know!!!! Give them a taste of their own medicine!
Once again, BFC has Shades of Pink and Purples in stitches over dinner.

After dinner, we headed off to Siglap for dessert. See that cake over there? Think they tried to melt the chocolate, but all that came out was oil!
