Multiple Personalities Disorder

After half a day of work-related stress, catching Hossan in his stand-up comedy, "Multiple Personalities Disorder" was the perfect way to unwind. No doubt I had only to endure just half a day of work, but I was on leave the past 2.5 days, remember? And having to entertain calls (among many other things) from ONE same person asking questions bit by bit does not make the thought of working just half a day any better. Why can't people think through what they need properly before asking? Why must they ask questions in such a 'lau sai' manner???

For those who haven't seen "Multiple Personalities Disorder" yet, you still have the whole of February to catch it. The way he tweaks the lyrics of certain songs to fit into his jokes is witty and hilarious. Go, go go catch it. It promises an evening of laughs.

Before we caught Multiple Personalities Disorder, we stopped by "Lau Di Fang" for dinner.

We shared the salad bun ('man tou' with coleslaw and luncheon meat). RT, Cooking Girl and Jol had the chicken cutlet rice. I had the eel rice, Digital Curls had the pork rice set and The Recruiter ordered the duck rice set.

Can you tell which ones are which?

We couldn't too, cos they were all made of gluten. We became herbivores for that evening, much to the disappointment of The Recruiter, who arrived late and didn't realise it was a vegetarian restaurant till he asked RT, "How's your chicken?"

RT: "I prefer real chicken."

The Recruiter: "What??"

On leave.

So I'm on leave again. And will be again tomorrow. And half of Wednesday. I was on leave half of last Wednesday and the whole of last Thursday.

You're probably wondering how come my leave so anyhow. Well, that's cause it WAS taken anyhow. Had to clear 4 days carried over from last year by this month. As with the start of every year, it's busy busy busy. Then I realised that there were these 4 days of leave waiting to be cleared. And there was a week and a half left to clear them. So...anyhow la.

Took the dogs for their yearly vaccination in the morning, and had Barkley do the long overdue blood test for heartworm. Check out the blood test kit.

Very cute. One line means negative for heartworm; two lines means positive for heartworm. So Barkley's tested negative and I now have to start him on the preventive medication, Heartgard.

After the visit to the vet, I popped over to Siglap to meet Mon for lunch at HK cafe. Haven't met this one since Christmas. Used to see her Mondays to Fridays when we were in the same organisation. Check out what we had.

No, we didn't order a dish of 4 yolks. We actually removed the yolks from our eggs as I hate runny yolks, and Mon only eats runny yolks with bread. And the reason why we had 4 yolks was because we found some silver staple looking foil (which turned out to be the wrapper of the noodle pack) in BOTH our dishes, which resulted in them having to cook us a new set each. How does that happen ah? The last time this happened to me (at someplace else), I found part of the wire mesh they use to boil the noodles in within my dish.

So that's half of my day's leave gone. I'd better go pack my room. I've been meaning to do it since last Christmas. Hee. Better do it soon before it's time to head off for a tennis sesh. Then again, if I don't do it today, I'm still on leave tomorrow. So I could also do it then, I guess.

A Man's Best Friend

If you have time for only one book this year, make it John Grogan's "Marley & Me". Especially if you're a dog lover. More so if you own a Labrador.

I'm not one who can laugh whilst reading a comic, or tear while reading a sad novel. It takes a movie or some real live action scene to make me react instantaneously, if at all. I laugh like "seow" watching "Just for Laughs", and I tear everytime I watch that saccharine sweet scene from "Love Actually" or "Untamed Heart".

But this book, it got me smiling to myself and tearing whilst reading. I swear I looked like a "seow char bor" reading and tearing while reading the last few chapters on the train. It was a good thing I was at the 2-seater.

A man's best friend surely, has got to be his canine pal. Who else still greets you with so much enthusiasm every single day even after you've given him a good beating or tongue lashing? It's almost like they have an extremely short term memory.

Hence, it irates me when I hear of dog abuse cases. Or situations where humans react in a certain way, citing "it's just a dog what" as a reason. Oh, that really pisses me off. I tell you, some dogs behave better than some kids. And grown ups. Just last week, a friend of mine related an incident he had with a not-so-pleasant chain of vets. He has since written in to AVA with an account of what happened. I didn't have a pleasant experience on my one and only visit to this not-so-pleasant chain either, so I think there must be something really quite unpleasant about them.

Ai Mai

So I've had requests to keep my entries strictly in English, for the simple reason that some cannot decipher what I'm writing. Ok, I know my Mandarin is not fantastic, but my hanyu pinyin can't be that bad right?

Anyway, rest assured that I'll try to limit the use of dialect in this post to just the title, simply because the effect of "Ai Mai" is more impactful than "Want or Not".

All praise and thanks to certain body/bodies, on whom the realisation has just hit that single mums are mums too, single mums are now entitled to government-paid maternity leave... ...

That is, if they tie the knot with the child's father within 3 months of the child's birth. (C'mon, did you really not see this coming???)

Scenario 1
Perhaps the father of the child is already married and the mother didn't know of his status. (We all know the bastards in some men, don't we?)

Scenario 2
We all have our moment(s) of folly. The father of the child is not responsible enough a man for her to spend the rest of her life with. In this instance, she may well be better off without him.

I could list a myriad scenarios, but my point is: Would the single mother not have wed the father of the child if circumstances had permitted? Find me one person who willingly chooses to be a single mum. We all know how difficult this can be in this sunny gem of an island.

As someone mentioned when I brought up scenario 1 on this topic: I think the value they are really trying to instill is this "Please do not get involved with a married man, or else you lose out on ONE month's maternity leave"

Back to how difficult it is being a single mum in this sunny gem of an island that we live on. Since they have Gone the Extra Mile to provide for single mums' additional month of maternity leave, do single mums now Gian the Extra Month and quickly marry the child's father regardless of the person that he is?

Sheesh. So want to give or not? Want to give, give properly la.

How Much Smaller Can The World Get?

Met some uni friends for lunch today, and over some sushi, we found out how small the world really is.

Let me first say that this is the first time I was meeting up with Khimmy and Junny after leaving the university. So really, I hardly knew anything substantial about these two.

So there we were, talking about random things. Then...

Junny: Where do you live again ah?

Purples: At so and so.

Junny: Really? He (referring to an ex) lives there also!

Purples: Is it? Which number? Name leh? Maybe I know him!

Junny: Oh no. Anyways, its number xxxx

Purples: Oh, I don't know who. But the house issit got pool one, then there are like 4 similar houses in a row that kind?

Junny: Ya ya. That's the one lor.

Purples: Oh ok. I dunno him but I think my cousin does
.

So the kaypo me calls my cousin. And the cousin knows.... not him, but his cousin who lives in one of the 4 similar houses!

Small world number 1.

While listening to our conversation, small world number 2 hits Khimmy.

Khimmy: Oh, you stay around there ah? My hubby's good friend stays there too and I go there quite often.

Purples: Is it? What's the address?

Khimmy: Dunno what the exact address is but the house is like a jungle, and got no windows one. You go in by xxx road, then you turn right and it's there by the corner.

Purples: Oh! I know. The house macam on stilts one right? Then wooden wooden very Balinese kind of pattern right? And there's a pool one right?

Khimmy: Ya ya! That's the one.

So tell me, how come everybody living in the same place??

Ni Zhong Yu You Hua!

Those were the exact words from Miss J when these came in for me at the office today. Just, actually.

Thanks RT, for the lovely flowers. In my favourite colour some more - pinkple. :)

Somehow though, I feel a bit like a "yeow gui". I mean, these came in after this post.

All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy

I'm sure you've heard that idiom before. And I SO live by it. I mean, work, at the end of the day, is just work. Work can never be finished. Ever. Besides, there's a whole lot more to life than just work, isn't there?

But sometimes, you need more than just work and play. You need to kill, you know. Just like today. I feel like killing people.

Tell me, what about people pisses you off most?

a) People who do a half-fark job

b) People with double farking standards

c) People with no farking sense of urgency or priority

d) People who love taking credit but equally farking love to shirk responsibility and accountability

Ans: _________

Now tell me, what about organisations pisses you off more?

a) Orgs that have messy, unsystematic work processes

b) Orgs that recognise and reward highly unworthy people

Ans: ________

If you had an answer that resembles the first 4 letters of the alphabet, I guess you're lucky to be working where you are. You'd better not leave. You might just jump out of the frying pan and into the fire if you do. I look at option (a) and I go "Ya this is the worst." Then I see option (b) and I go "Ya this is the worst." Then I look at option (c) and......you get the drift? How could you have managed to pick just one???

Ok. I've spewed enough profanities and mentally killed enough people for the day. I'm gonna say my bedtime prayers, ask for forgiveness and go to bed.

Maybe tomorrow, I spew and kill again. Or maybe the night's rest would have calmed the profane murderer in me.

"Miss J, You Mei You Hua?"

Here are some of the responses I get whenever I pass the office reception desk and pose this question to Miss J:

"Jing tian shi ni sheng ri?" (Translation: Is it your birthday today?) or

"Wo qu wai mian cai gei ni la" (Translation: I'll go outside and pluck some for you la) or

"Mei you. Ni mei tian wen wo zhe ge wen ti." (Translation: Don't have. You everyday ask me the same question.)

Today, Miss J came by my desk and said: "Purples, ni kan!" (Translation: Purples, you see!)

I turned around and saw this...

Then Miss J added: "Bu shi gei ni de. Wo zhi shi gei ni kan er yi" (Translation: But not for you. I just show you only)

??????

I shall stop asking her THAT question already la. :(

Dessert Retreat

It's a Monday. I wasn't at work. I wasn't at the usual Monday morning meeting. Neither was I on leave. I spent the day at Changi Village Hotel!!!

Actually, the whole department did.

We were having a department retreat. The usual ritual companies invest in to foster team-building, synergy, cooperation and camaraderie amongst fellow colleagues. So we played games like "Bull in the Pit" and "Circle of Trust" and "Flying Saucer" and "Octopus Game". We even had one that had us role play squirrels and trees to bring across the idea of role-change and adaptation in the work environment. Somehow it reminded me of that "In and out the cherry window" game I used to play in kindergarten and primary school.

Then, of course, we had the mandatory "What's next year's target?", "What and where are the opportunities for growth and development?" presentations and discussions. Bleah.

The best part of the retreat though, was the dessert at lunch. Bread pudding (my favourite!), fruit platter (normal but healthy), chocolate mousse (yummy), blueberry mousse (yummier), fruit cake (so-so), tiramisu (ok), some nonya kuehs (didn't try) and chocolate ice-cream (normal. What brand ice cream huh?).

There was also fruit cocktail that was served in champagne flutes. Very pretty but not very yummy.

Treat Them The Way Their Women Do

The sun decided to go on strike again. It's been raining big small big small non-stop. Really annoying. Jol, Digital Curls and I headed to Seah Street for lunch. Because of the rain, Cooking Girl and Ms Troublesome took a while to join us. We ordered first and each ordered a chicken rice. And that's when Ms China started to annoy me.

Waitress: Ni men san ge ren jiao ji fan, ke yi jiao ban ge ji. San ge ren ye ke yi jia yi pan you cai. (Translation: You 3 order chicken rice, can order half a chicken. 3 people then also can order a plate of vegetables).

We were discussing for a while, when....

Waitress: shee shee shor shor shee shee shor shor......... (random ramblings. Dunno what she was saying.)

Purples: Eh, can faster decide or not? Very irritating, the voice. Can die. Hurry up.

Jol: Hao la. Wo men jiao ban ge ji. (Translation: ok we will have half the chicken)

Waitress: You cai yao bu yao? (Translation: Vegetables want or not?)

Purples: Aiyoh! Quick tell her everything ok la. Just make her stop talking!

Jol: Hao la. Jia you cai (Translation: ok, add the vegetables)

Waitress: Yao he she me ne? (Translation: What would you like to drink?)

Purples: Chinese tea (and we all decide to have one)

Jol: Zhong Guo Cha (Translation: Chinese tea)

Waitress: Hao. San bei lu cha (Translation: 3 cups of green tea)

Purples: Eh, we said chinese tea la

Jol: Bu shi. Wo men yao zhong guo cha. Oolong. (Translation: No we want chinese tea. Oolong)

Waitress: Oolong zhi you leng de. Shao de quan bu shi lu cha. Wo men de zhong guo cha shi shee shee shor shor shee shee shor shor........(Translation: Oolong only comes in chilled form. Hot one is green tea. Our Chinese tea is shee shee shor shor shee shee shor shor......)

Purples: Tell her ok! Quick!!!!!

Jol: Hao. Lu cha (Translation: ok, green tea is fine)

Waitress (across to the drink counter about 5 metres away): SAN BEI LU CHA SHAO! (Translations: 3 cups of hot green tea)

Digital Curls: Ok, this time of the month not very good. Better not make that woman talk already.

It wasn't so much the incessant talking, really. It was the sheer shrill pitch, China accent and audio level of the voice. Really annoying. And getting my pants soaked in the rain wasn't helping the situation.

So that was lunch. Dinner was at Different Taste Cafe at Frankel with the girls. Fish head curry, pork ribs and sambal kankong. It was still raining and perfect weather for fish head curry. BFC was sharing with us an incident which took place in her course of work.

Group of PRC men: Xiao jie, ke yi pao cha ma? (Traslation: Miss, can brew some tea?)

BFC: Sian sheng, tian qi bu hao, zhe me pao cha ne? (Translation: Sirs, there is turbulence, how to brew tea now?

Group of PRC men: Dui ah. Shao hui'er (Tranlsation: That's right. Later then)

Later, the group of them order their individual drinks one by one, resulting in my dear friend having to go back and forth between the kitchen and them to serve them their drinks.

BFC: Aiyo, ni men ying gai yi qi jiao ma. Yi ci guo ma (Translation: Aiyo, you should all order at the same time ma. Order all at once ma)

Group of PRC men: Dui ah dui ah. (Translation: That's right. That's right.)

BFC: Ni men zai xin jia bo zhu ji tian? (Translation: How long is your stay in Singapore?)

Group of PRC men: Liang tian (Translation: 2 days)

BFC: Liang tian na li gou? Ying gai duo zhu ji tian (Translation: 2 days only is not enough. Should stay longer)

Group of PRC men: Ru guo wo men zai xin jia bo peng dao ni, wo men jiu duo zhu ji dian pei ni! (Translation: If we bump into you, we will extend our stay to accompany you)

BFC (panics and says): Aiyo. Xin jia bo you na me duo xiao jie, ni men zhe me hui peng shang wo?? (Translation: Aiyo, there are so many women in Singapore, how to bump into me?)

Purples: How come you talk and "tae" liddat?

BFC: Aiyah, the best way to treat them is the way their women treat them what. You should have seen the PRC women sitting behind them! The face all black you know!!!! Give them a taste of their own medicine!

Once again, BFC has Shades of Pink and Purples in stitches over dinner.

After dinner, we headed off to Siglap for dessert. See that cake over there? Think they tried to melt the chocolate, but all that came out was oil!

Ache.

Thighs. Arms. Butt. All aching when I woke up this morning.

Because the ambitious Purples decided to try her hand at badminton and squash last evening, thinking that she should be pretty fit after her recent running attempts. I think she forgot that these are 2 sports that she has NEVER attempted to play before. The closest would be tennis.

In any case, Cooking Girl, Ms Troublesome, Jol, Ed, RT and I headed to the company's clubhouse for an evening of squash and badminton.

Badminton
I swear, I CANNOT see the shuttlecock. I think it's too light or something. I can sometimes miss the shuttlecock despite it landing right in front of me. But because it's light, it gives me more time to react due to its slower speed. More air resistance from the feathers, maybe? Hmm.

Squash
None of us, other than RT who was a school player, had ever played squash before. I think we all had the impression that we'd end up with a black eye. So we took turns sparring with RT, who patiently repeated the rules of the game to us, and hit the ball such that it would head back in our direction, making it easier for us to hit. I used to think this was quite a 'cuckoo' game - confined in a small court, hitting the ball against the wall, and then trying to 'siam' the ball when it comes towards you. The court so small how to run??? Perfect setting for claustrophobia.

But after today, I think playing squash can really burn fats.

That's all our stuff. I really like Ms Troublesome's pink strawberry bag, and I think Perrier should be drunk at meals, not after sports. It just makes me burp like crazy.

After we were done, RT and I had to rush off for Kayestercan's second birthday celebration with the whole family.

Happy Hatch Day, Ms Troublesome!

Happy “Last Year of the Decade”, Ms Troublesome! Enjoy it for the next 365 days, ya? The first digit will NEVER come back again. Heh. I shouldn’t be so evil cos it’s gonna be my turn soon.

To celebrate, Oyster, Cooking Girl, Digital Curls and I popped over to Aerin’s at Raffles City for lunch. Food was not too bad. Ambience was pretty nice… just by the fountain.

The birthday girl had Chicken Caciatore - Chunky boneless chicken slow cooked with vegetables in a rich herb flavoured tomato sauce,

Digital Curls had Tagliatelle Bolognaise - tagliatelle with minced beef ragout in tomato sauce,

Cooking Girl had Penne Carretiara - penne with bacon, tuna and mushroom in tomato sauce,

Oyster had Aerin's Tagliatelle - tagliatelle with mushroom ragout in light cream sauce, smoked salmon and roe,

I had Bangers & Mash - grilled fresh English pork sausages and mashed potatoes with onions braised with beef jus (I know it looks a bit unappetizing, but really, it's good).

For starters, we shared Aerin's salad (mixed garden salad with sliced apples & pine nuts in Japanese wafu dressing) and deep fried calamari.

No meal's complete without dessert. So among us, we had a Baked Apple & Rhubarb Pie (which resembles French Onion Soup), a Mississippi Mud Cake...

and a Double Chocolate Fudge Cake which doubled up as the birthday cake.

Turn Off, Turn On

The copier at office recently has an added function which is really cool. It can scan documents AND send it to staff via email within the minute.

So I was waiting in line to get some documents scanned. Cooking Girl was taking a while as she was having problems with copying. Something about paper size. Think she got a bit stressed as Digital Curls and I were waiting to learn how to work that scan function from another colleague. So, there were 3 of us there, all waiting for her to be done with her copying.

And that's when I learnt a really quick way of solving the problem when the copier doesn't register the right paper size. Turn the whole machine off and then turn it on again.

Actually, I think it works for troubleshooting all other problems, not just with paper size.

Thanks for the tip, Cooking Girl! :p

Starting and Ending Decades

Because I knew I was going to be pigging out today, I embarked on my 2nd run of the year. Think I did was worse than the 1st as I didn't complete running the route.

Pig Out 1
To celebrate my cousin, Kayestercan's entry into her next decade, the family went for a buffet lunch at Copthorne King's "Princess Terrace Cafe". From the mains to the desserts, the food was fantastic. Penang laksa, prawn noodles, roti jala, popiah, teh tarik, nasi lemak, otah, apom (banana and some flour thing dessert with some yummy creamy stuff ), nonya kuehs.....

Thanks Kayestercan, for the lunch treat! May you have a great decade ahead, with many more to come!

Pig Out 2
Then, to celebrate Vandice's last year of the current decade, Suspension Girl, Shades of Pink, BFC, RT and The Idol met at The Turquoise Room for dinner. The place is really cosy and quaint. Like a little beach house by the sea.

We ordered some wine, starters (calamari, bread with dips and portabello mushroom with crabmeat) two 12" pizza and a serving of pasta each. I think we were a little overambitious. No more space for the yummy desserts!!!! So the only person who had a dessert cum birthday cake was Vandice.

Happy Birthday Vandice! May the coming better the going! ;p

Amidst good food, wine and company, we engaged in random conversations, one of them involving Shades of Pink's subconscious habit. Big mistake. The rest of the dinner just saw her trying to catch herself at it. But it's subconscious dear, so, really, you'll NEVER catch it. We love you all the same, you know? ;p

I'm gonna catch some shut eye now. The whole day's pigging out has gotten me really tired. I'd better exercise soon. With big, curled locks and too much food, the potential of resembling Miss Piggy is quite high.

So, I Did it.

I sat at Mosche for a good 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon, got my locks plugged into the Octopus machine, and voila! I've now got curly locks. :)

Two of my aunts and RT were with me to render some moral support. Aunt Oz, who had just gotten her locks permed and Banker Aunt (who started this perming fad), who recommended the salon, and gave the stylist a summary of what my possible reactions could be. RT must be really familiar with the contents of December's issue of Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Women's Weekly now, having sat 3 hours with me at Mosche!

Banker Aunt: Make sure you assess properly before you perm hor. My this niece will cry one hor, if it turns out bad

Stylist: How about trying a whole head perm? Can be very nice one.

Banker Aunt: Huh? You don't make her cry la. This one really will cry one.

So after much assessment of my hair texture, length, the type of curls and the numnber of curls, he proceeded to curl my locks.

I was quite worried about how it'd turn out, but I'm pretty happy with it.

It doesn't always happen. Coming out of a salon and feeling happy with the outcome. :)

Another Extended Family Affair

After work today, Digital Curls & I headed to Royce's at Suntec to pick up some chocolates for my aunt and uncle who were celebrating their wedding anniversary today. Picked out 3 kinds of chocolates, and had a chocolate sampling session with Digital Curls while at it. :)

Dinner was at "No Signboard Restaurant" at Vivo City. Why in the world did they name the restaurant such? One of my cousins was late as she took a while locating the restaurant.

Purples: Why so late?

Cousin: This place so confusing, very hard to find! But I think it was because I couldn't find the signboard.

Haha. Very funny.

Anyways, as with the usual extended family meals, we occupied 3 tables, and had a feast. Chilli Crabs. Pepper Crabs. Prawns. Pork Ribs. Lemon Chicken. Cold Dish. Vegetables. Dessert. My aunt who resides in Melbourne was also in town, so it was pretty much the whole complete extended family - 4 generations of us. Nice.

During dinner, I realised that my aunt from Oz had just gotten her hair permed. That makes 3 of them. And it was the perm that I had wanted to do 4 months back, but was told that my hair's too short. But her hair looked the same length as mine what! I think I'll try visiting the salon again. I've tried using the curlers to get an idea of what I'd look like with curls. What do you think? Perm? Don't perm?

The Holiday.

The weird timings of the show was indication that the movie was ending its run soon. So I decided to catch it today simply because I'd seen the trailers a couple of months back and it looked like a nice romantic flick, somewhat like Love Actually (which I loved). And of course, there is Jude Law. How could anyone miss a show starring Jude? But why do they always cast him in such 'chee-hong' roles?? Ok, in The Holiday, he wasn't a player, but it started off with him giving viewers the impression that he was.

The movie was great. It was sad, touching, heartwarming, heart-wrenching all at the same time, and very real.

It was heart-wrenching watching Kate's ex boyfriend, Ethan spring the unexpected announcement of his engagement on her.

It was sweet and touching when Ethan called to say he'd left a parcel at Kate's place halfway across the world, have her look high and low for it, only to find it with him at her doorstep when she opened the door.

But it was sickening watching him trying to hold on to her, telling her he didn't want to lose her, despite him already being engaged to be wed.

It was extremely heartwarming watching Jude play a widowed father to his 2 girls.

It was all too easy to relate to when Kate described about how she knew small feelings, and how she actually feels the pain in certain parts of her body where she never thought hurting was possible.

Very real too, how we choose to overlook the flaws in a person that we (think?) we love, and the moment they do or say something that's sugary sweet to melt our hearts, all the wrongs they've done are forgotten and forgiven.

Silly creatures we women are sometimes, aren't we?

For those who haven't caught the show yet, hurry, go catch it before it ends its run. And while you're at it, don't forget the nachos with (extra) cheese dip. It's even more yummilicious when you're eating it and watching Jude Law! heh.

First Run of 2007

Since I have been eating and not exercising for the whole festive season from Christmas to the New Year, I decided to go running at East Coast with RT today. For those who know me well, you know I absolutely HATE running. But it's one of the few sports that makes me perspire.

So for the first time in my entire life, I decked myself with proper running gear and attire, prepping myself for a run and a short workout at one of the fitness centres.

Reebok cap: compliments of RT, from Queensway, Singapore

Nike running shoes: from Queensway, Singapore

Dri-fit Nike top: from the Russian Market, Cambodia

Shorts: (dunno for running or not): from Marine Parade, Singapore

Now don't I look like I've been running for the longest time? ;p

Here's how I did.

Distance: 2.5km in 17 min and 16 sec

Sit-ups: 3 sit ups. (couldn't get up and my tailbone hurt)

Pull ups: 1, with assistance (I know now why this one is limited to the guys)

Quite pathetic huh? But I think it was pretty ok, if you take into consideration that it has been yonkers since I did a proper run. It has to be during my college days, when everyone HAD to do the 2.4 km run, sit ups, shuttle run etc etc.

The best part of the run had to be this. Iced Milo from Macs.

Refreshing!

Better still, come dinner with HY, I didn't feel guilty pigging out! "Tze Char" and a warm chocolate cake with whipped cream from Starbucks after!

I think one of my new year resolutions will be to try and keep fit by running at least once a week.

Happy New Year!

So, I just got up from all the rara during the countdown celebration last night.

Nothing exceptionally different. Just the usual celebration with my extended family (parents, counsins, aunties, uncles, grandma, nieces) and a couple of friends, filled with lotsa warmth and love. Almost just like Christmas, save for the gift-exchange. In its place when the clock struck twelve, were champagne and hugs exchanged amongst everyone present.

Shades of Pink, you missed my christmas party, but from this one, you can imagine what it was like. Thanks for coming despite your hectic schedule of party hopping! Jacket Loaner, thanks for helping to pop the champagne and the creation of a potential angry neighbour. I don't think they found the cork yet. :p

Here's wishing everyone a great year ahead. And as Vandice always says, "May the coming better the going!"

My Middle Child

My middle child. Got scolded by the father for not concentrating when doing her chinese work. Fell asleep on the bus till the driver did...
