Firsts.

"First love is always the deepest and the sweetest, or so they say."

That came from Shades of Pink's blog, coupled with this question: "Can you really forget your first love?"

I guess not, I told her. Even with the acknowledgement that you both can never be, despite the wonderful moments shared, the trials you overcame together, there will always be a special place for that first true love.

By nature of the fact that it was your first love makes every experience in that relationship a first. Which in turn makes it extra memorable and special. That special place, that special song, that particular movie, that silly quarrel, that special code that only you both knew, etc etc. So, how do you forget something like that?

Then sometimes you wonder why it didn't work out.

I've thought it over and at the end of the day, I guess, in relationships, it boils down to these scenarios:

1) Right person, wrong time. This one's really sad. But I guess with priorities differing in difference phases of life, it happens. And it makes you wonder if it would have worked out if that right person who was there at the wrong time came back again at a different time in your life.

2) Wrong person, right time. In this instance, do we end up marrying the wrong person just because the person was there at that particular moment - that phase of life where your peers are all getting hitched, relatives pose you the same "So when you getting married?" question at every gathering, and you feel that it's about time anyway. And then you settle for that person who appeared at that right moment in time.

No point wondering, I guess.

Does the right one and the right time ever coincide anyway?
