Cooking Girl's 28th

Another one of us nearing the end of the decade. But not to worry, cos I'll reach it first.

This is a belated post, but we did celebrate on the actual day (5 Mar) at Seah Street Deli. Typical huge portioned American food. Then as usual, we pigged out on desserts - bread and butter pudding, tiramisu cake and a sinfully chocolatey cake which doubled up as the birthday cake.



We had instructed the staff to serve the slice of birthday cake with a candle after the main courses as a surprise. What we ALL didn't expect was having them play the "Happy Birthday" song out loud across the WHOLE restaurant! So when the cake was served (it came from behind me), all I heard from Cooking Girl (who was seated across from me) was "Oh no! How come so loud???" The end of the song was followed by an applause from the other diners. Cooking Girl turned into a beetroot.

Honest to goodness, we hadn't planned on them doing that, but it was a nice surprise, wasn't it? :)
